Would You Like to Help Engage Canadians in a Transformation to a Sustainable Future?

The Pembina Institute is seeking a seasoned and reputable environmental leader with experience in the oil sands industry to lead the oil sands related consulting activities of the Pembina Corporate Consulting program. This includes developing and supporting leading edge consulting projects, building and managing client relations, and working with a highly committed and talented cross-functional team.

The work of the successful candidate will primarily focus on:

  • Building mutually beneficial relationships with future oil sands related clients and ongoing management of existing relationships
  • Developing, leading, and supporting oil sands related consulting projects focusing on improving environmental, social, and financial (triple-bottom-line) performance, including:
    • corporate environmental and social responsibility strategy development and support
    • issues identification and prioritization
    • best practices identification
    • triple-bottom-line performance measurement
    • facilitation of triple-bottom-line decision making processes
    • stakeholder engagement support
    • developing a corporate culture of innovation
    • employee engagement on sustainability
    • technology identification, evaluation, and deployment support
  • Ensuring cross-project synergies are identified within and across programs at Pembina
  • Working closely with Pembina's oil sands program and providing strategic support to related policy projects
  • Presenting on oil sands related issues and performance improvement opportunities
  • Playing a value added role in multi-stakeholder collaborative initiatives focusing on oil sands development

While consulting project leadership and support will be an integral component of the role, proactive and reactive business development activities will be a priority focus.

The candidate could find themselves at times also supporting or leading:

  • other Pembina consulting projects in each of its three consulting program areas: corporate, public sector services, and sustainable communities
  • development of new niches for Pembina Consulting that support its existing strategies
  • advancement of Pembina's ongoing internal strategy development processes
