Alberta Acts launches green energy tour

Community group presentation

Expanding our use of renewable energy resources requires active citizen participation

Alberta Acts on Climate Change officially launched its Green Energy Tour today. Project coordinator, Greg Powell, and a new intern will join others from the Pembina Institute to visit Alberta communities that are interested in learning more about their role in expanding the use of renewable energy sources.

The tour will build upon Pembina's work on Greening the Grid and will relate the findings of the recently released Landowners' Guide to Wind Energy in Alberta. We will also discuss prospects for community-owned renewable energy facilities and for developing a Green Energy Act in Alberta that would support increasing the proportion of electricity derived from renewables.

Alberta Acts and Pembina staff will also be available to meet with community groups and with mayors and councils during the tour.

To ensure your community is included on the tour, please contact us.
