By developing renewable energy sources and technologies, we are not only decreasing our dependence on fossil fuels, but also creating renewable technologies that are cost effective, have a smaller ecological footprint, and require less input. Unlike oil, which grows more expensive as our supplies diminish, clean energy solutions do not increase over time, and are simply more equitable on a global scale. By decentralizing energy production, communities will be able to power themselves from local energy sources.
