Each participating community will have a steering committee that represents the diverse interests of the community to guide the engagement process.

The steering committees will guide the goal planning, participant invitation and session design, and will assist in finalizing the plan to implement the preferred climate change solutions that the community has identified.

Steering committee members will likely meet 4 times before April/May 2010 for 2 hours each time.

During these meetings, steering committee members will help Alberta Acts staff understand more about the community, the concerns of the residents, how residents typically engage on civic matters and how to best promote the open forum sessions.
