Jeff Rambharack is pursuing his master of sustainable energy development, a multi-disciplinary program offered at the University of Calgary. Jeff has a background in engineering and worked for several years as a software developer before shifting his focus to energy and environmental issues. Jeff lends his technical expertise to Alberta Acts on Climate Change by producing videos and maintaining the website.
We asked Jeff why he joined the Alberta Acts team. He responded, "I strongly believe that Albertans have more to gain from fighting climate change at its roots than anyone else in Canada. As a master's student in Sustainable Energy Development at the U of C, I've learned about the dangers that the abundance of fossil energy in this province can pose not only to the global climate but to our own health and the precious natural environment of Alberta as well. I joined the Alberta Acts team to help spread the message that climate change isn't something beyond our control, and that we don't have to compromise our lifestyles or empty our pockets to protect our health, environment, and climate. I hope that this project inspires people and teaches them how to take action and make choices - to insist on products, energy providers, and governments that guarantee the highest quality and best future for Albertans today and tomorrow."
